What is a Doula?

A Birth Doula is a trained, experienced labor companion, providing the birthing person (and any partner or family members) continuous emotional support, physical comfort and assistance in obtaining information before, during and just after childbirth.

A Postpartum Doula provides crucial support during your months following birth (aka the fourth trimester), assisting your transition into parenthood with newborn care, recovery and postpartum comfort measures, assistance with bottle or breastfeeding, meal preparation and household organization to make your life easier so you can focus on your family.

Doulas 'parent the parent,' giving you the benefit of enjoying your birth and settling into parenthood with confidence!

A Midwife views pregnancy as healthy, natural and empowering. A guide and witness of the passage from womb to earth for a new human being, a midwife nurtures and protects birth, allowing the birthing person to lead.

As a Doula and Student Midwife, I honor pregnancy, birth and postpartum as key events that you will cherish forever. I see the birthing person and child bonded together as an inseparable pair—individuals that are two sides of the same coin.

I’m in this profession because I love birth. I love working with newborns! And I absolutely adore assisting my clients in the most liberating experience of their lives.
